Premium products for your beloved companions.
The Pet Headquarters is a trading name of CHERYA HOLDINGS LIMITED (company no. 17203315), a company registered in England and Wales. This policy explains what we store on your device and why. It complements our main Privacy Policy.
We use as little tracking as possible. We always run essential login + cart cookies and our own privacy-friendly anonymous analytics. With your consent — and only with your consent — we also use Microsoft Clarity to record anonymous session replays so we can see where the site is confusing and fix it. We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising cookies, or any other third-party trackers.
When you sign in to your account, we set two short-lived cookies (tph_access and tph_refresh) so you can stay logged in across page loads and check out securely. These are essential for the service you've asked for and cannot be disabled under PECR. They are HttpOnly + Secure + SameSite-locked, and are deleted when you log out.
Your shopping cart, recently-viewed products, any promo code you've applied, and your cookie-notice preference are stored in your browser's localStorage so they survive page refreshes. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you place an order or clear your browser data. No identifier is sent to us.
We track aggregate information about which pages people visit, how long they stay, and which products are popular, so we can improve the site. We do this without setting any cookies and without storing your IP address. Each visitor is identified by a one-way hash that resets every 24 hours, so we can't recognise you across days or devices unless you're logged in. Under PECR (the UK's cookie law) this kind of first-party anonymous analytics does not require your consent, but we show a notice anyway because we think you should know.
If you click "Accept all" in the privacy notice, we load Microsoft Clarity — a session-replay tool that records an anonymised playback of your visit (mouse movement, clicks, scroll behaviour, page transitions). Clarity helps us see where the layout is confusing or where checkout drops off, so we can fix it. We have configured Clarity to its strictest text-masking mode — form fields, addresses, names and any personal text you type are replaced with placeholders in the recording itself, before it leaves your browser. Clarity sets a small number of first-party cookies (_clck, _clsk, MUID) that expire within a year. To turn this off, click "Necessary only" in the cookie notice. If you've already accepted and want to revoke, clear your site data in your browser (Settings → Privacy → Site data) or email contact@thepetheadquarters.co.uk and we will treat the request as a UK GDPR Article 7(3) consent withdrawal.
If you'd rather we didn't run any optional analytics on your visit, click "Necessary only" in the privacy notice when you arrive — this stops both our first-party analytics and Microsoft Clarity. You can also enable Do Not Track in your browser settings — we respect that signal automatically. Opting out doesn't break anything; the site works exactly the same.
We don't sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties for advertising. We don't use cookies to track you across other websites. We don't show personalised ads. We don't run Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising tracker. We don't fingerprint your device.
Our site is intended for adults aged 18 or over (with accounts available from age 13 with parental supervision). We do not knowingly set cookies or collect data from anyone under 13. See section 3 of our Privacy Policy for the full age requirements.
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
